JULIA WALLACE

EDUCATION
Julia Wallace is set to graduate Michigan State University in May of 2023. She has earned a bachelors degree in Journalism with a minor in Public Relations.
Throughout her four years at MSU, Julia has been featured in six issues of VIM Magazine, along with creating her own costume that was featured in the 2020 music video "Nights in Michigan" produced by VIM Magazine. She was promoted to fashion director in May 2022. Her responsibilities include handpicking candidates to become a part of VIM Magazines Men's and Women's fashion team, overseeing both fashion stylists and writers, crafting and approving style guides, and ensuring members gain meaningful fashion experiences. Her previous role of fashion stylist allowed her to pitch, create, and showcase her fashion ideas through full-scale photoshoots within VIM's issues and social media platforms.
Julia's hands on experience with VIM Magazine landed her a role working with companies such as the Forbes Company at the Somerset Collection and Mature Lifestyle Clothier, a Detroit founded menswear lifestyle clothing brand. At the Somerset Collection, she worked side by side and assisted stylists such as Asia Jones and Tam Clarke. She also collaborated with the mall management and the marketing team when hosting mall events, pop up shops, running the teams social media accounts, and working to produce social media content. At Mature Lifestyle Clothier, she worked one-on-one with the founders and clients as she assisted in-person and digital styling appointments, created social media campaigns, and worked on store merchandising.
Following her journalism and public relations studies, Julia has worked with WKAR Media, an NPR and PBS affiliate media channel, along with Virgo Communications, a metro-Detroit based public relations firm. She has strengthened her skills outside of the classroom by being assigned tasks from senior managers and clients.
